1 The Founders were: From the start, leaders cited an early aspiration of national expansion. Sigma Sigma Sigma is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), an umbrella organization encompassing 26 national sororities or women's fraternities, which focus on service, education, scholarship programming and social activities. Sigma Phi Sigma was founded as a social, academic fraternity at the University of Pennsylvania on 13 April 1908.
Governing Councilsįour Councils govern our Fraternity and Sorority Community: Members of organizations may apply to live together in a section of a residence hall designated by the College. Transfer student are eligible to join a fraternity or sorority during their first semester at the institution, provided they have successfully complete at least 12 credits at their previous institution(s). Students with at least a 2.50 grade point average are eligible to join a fraternity or sorority beginning in the second semester of their freshman year.
